Our Mission
The SixSeeds Language Academy offers dual preschool language immersion programs in two of the fastest growing languages in the world, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. As part of SixSeeds, our vision of “bringing stories home” extends to “bringing stories of other cultures home.” We view language and culture as a means to develop in children a true sense of the larger world around them.
Our Program
Our program is developmental. Children will learn through spontaneous and structured play experiences with lots of opportunities to interact with their peers and teachers. We’ll weave basic Chinese and Spanish language into a varied and exciting thematic preschool curriculum which will include arts, crafts, stories, writing, drawing, play-acting, music and movement, cooking and much more! We understand children bring multiple learning styles and personalities to the classroom. We’ll integrate activities that focus on every style of learning and help foster the innate love of learning and curiosity in every child.

Our Seedlings Staff
Helen Chen Kingston was raised in California, however her first language was Chinese. She went to years of Saturday Chinese school in her youth and took four years of advanced Chinese classes at Columbia University. With two children in tow, Helen recently earned her doctorate in education from Harvard, with a focus on language development and literacy. With her background in teaching preschool and elementary aged children, she is thrilled to be part of the SixSeeds Language Academy. “I hope to hear Spanish and Chinese increasingly spoken around our great town of Winchester!”
Anai Arenella was born and raised in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Her sense of adventure, love for children and fascination for other cultures led her to the US. She has a degree in bilingual preschool education and special needs education from the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala. She has had seven years of preschool teaching experience – first as a teacher and later as an au pair. “I love working with children. They keep my spirit young and happy.” In her free time, she is passionate about the outdoors. She enjoys hiking and has conquered thirty New England mountains with elevations of over four thousand feet.
Jean Yih Kingston lives in Winchester and is the mother of four children. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with majors in Biological Basis of Behavior and Elementary Education. She received her MS.Ed. from the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education. She and her husband John are the Co-Founders of SixSeeds (SixSeeds.org and SixSeeds.tv). Jean taught elementary school, co-founded a cooperative nursery school and otherwise has immersed herself in all things “kids.” “I wish a language program like this one existed for my children when they were younger!”
