That one special thing?

As we all know, Christmas frequently has a way of overwhelming the children, who unpack way too many gifts to spend time with just one.   Please see Jean's wonderful article "Looking for that sweet spot between scarcity and excess" which she wrote last year.  (Hey, Jean, did you locate that sweet spot this Christmas?)

My daughter Camille was thrilled when she realized her grandmother made her dolls dresses -- a million dresses -- which she's played with ever since.

Question to you all: was there one gift that lit up your children's eyes and imagination this year? Let's hear about it.

(If you're wondering, I'm blogging on Christmas because my son ended up having influenza, type B -- the common flu -- and I'm sitting outside his room listening to him cough.  What a better time to blog?)
