Just read the Queen of England is cutting back costs to reflect the spirit of the times... by (gasp!) wearing the same outfit twice and shunning outward signs of high living.
Similarly -- if on a slightly smaller scale -- some of you are also cutting back on the excess that's become so normal in modern American life. What are some things we can eliminate without much pain at all?
I'll start: make your own coffee at home instead of paying $3 a cup.
Okay, I admit I stole that from a conversation I had with Jean. I'm actually having a tough time cutting back at all this season, as the UPS guy keeps piling boxes on the porch because I can't stop shopping online. I try to move them in quickly lest my neighbors think I've opened some sort of retail shop.
