Re: Family "Rallying" Points

Great topic John.  I believe individual headphones are stripping 90% of the value from the traditional family road trip.  While I remember some fairly violent fights over which music we should listen to I also remember the joy of discovering a song we could all rally around.   The songs we did find still hold a unique place in my soul if for only that I can remember parents, brother and sister setting aside personal taste and "petty differences" to commune to Dr. Hook's "On the Cover of the Rolling Stone" (A song I would only know because an uncle left a tape behind in the car) or Elton John's "Benny and Jets" or Brenda Lee's version of "Jingle Bell Rock."
