Watching television with the kids

My kids' rarely watch anything more than Phineus and Ferb. (Not that they watch less than your kids, they simply watch the same episodes over and over and over. Confession: I laugh in spite of myself every single time I overhear their clever jokes.)  But recently, I've dared to go into the space my kids have never been before.  Primetime television.

Tonight, my ten year old daughter Camille and I watched The Biggest Loser (episode two -- no spoilers!) and it was wonderful.  It was a great instance of allowing a what some deem a low-brow narrative to help create discussion about issues that do really matter.

Do you guys have shows that you watch as a family, which provoke interesting dialogue about virtue?

Tonight, you better believe we talked about gluttony, restraint, and self-control.

(No, there was no secret-agent platypus, but no show can be perfect!)
