Meet the newest RainDrop blogger

There are a lot of exciting things in store for faithful SixSeeds readers!  More to come on that in the next few weeks.   In the meantime, please meet our newest blogger (and my husband!) David French:

12 Things to Know About David:

1. You won't really understand me unless you¹ve watched this movie(s):

Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.  It’s not only functionally biographical (except for the anchorman part), it’s also perhaps the most profoundly insightful movie of the 21st century.

2. I'm most liable to get choked up when I hear about:

I don’t get choked up!  Who do you think you’re talking to?  Some kind of cardigan-wearing “sensitive guy” like John Wunderli?

3. If I had a completely free day to do anything I wanted, I would:

Sleep (a little) late, take a long bike ride with Nancy, take the kids to a good movie, read them a few chapters from a book, eat at the Japanese Steakhouse in Spring Hill, hang out with Nancy after the kids fall asleep, then log on to the greatest video game ever created, the World of Warcraft, and launch an assault on the Obsidian Sanctum to go for the “Twilight Vanquisher” achievement.

4. My kids drive me crazy when they:

I’m still so glad to be home after a year in Iraq that my kids just don’t drive me crazy.

5. I drive my kids crazy when I:

Me?  Drive my kids crazy?  I’m a constant source of joy, fun, and much-appreciated fatherly wisdom.  They appreciate even my parental discipline.  “Thank you, father, for teaching me live a just and upright life,” they say.

6. If you're going to give me a gift card, get me one from this store:

Apple.  I want more Macs!  We only have six.

7. I'm most proud of my kids when they:

When they are selfless, when they work hard, and when they are respectful to adults.

8. If I had a million dollars to give to a charity, I'd give it to:

I’d split it up.  One third would go to the Alliance Defense Fund (my employer), one third would go to church, and one third would go to an education fund for the children of soldiers who lost their lives in Iraq.

9. My go-to comfort food(s):

Chicken and rice.  I could eat chicken and rice for every meal.  And by chicken and rice, I mean plain minute rice and plain chicken breasts.  I also like Chips Ahoy.

10. If I could snap my finger and make some problem in the world go away, it would be:

Islamic terrorism.

11. Home chore or professional task I hate to do:

I can’t think of a home chore that I really like to do.  Ooh, what’s worse?  Doing the dishes or folding clothes?  I hate it all!  But I hate living in filth worse, so I do what I must . . . but no more!

12. I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that I watch or read:

How could I possibly be embarrassed of anything that I watch or read when my tastes are so sophisticated?  Like all patrons of the arts, I love American Idol, Survivor, most Will Ferrell movies, and truly good science fiction.
