Candy land

Boxes and boxes of candy filled two huge rooms and the children's eyes widened at the sight.  This wasn’t a scene out of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, but rather a delightful store my kids, Christopher and William and their cousins, James and Abigail, found themselves in yesterday afternoon.  

Such are the perks of running a video store – candy runs!

The candy man at the store led them to all the movie-sized candy where they were able to choose boxes of their favorite confections – mostly standards like Twizzlers, Snickers and Twix Bars, Raisinets, and Mike and Ikes, but also experimental items like the Berry Twisted Push-Pop SliderZ – cylindrical hard candy which flips conveniently back into its plastic packaging with the quick flip of a wrist.   While awed by the electric atmosphere of candy heaven, Christopher kept his wits about him and spent some time making good financial decisions for the video store.

And so, we begin our SixSeeds Video Store and community building adventure with a candy field trip.  Not everything about this journey is going to be as exciting and kid-friendly as this, but you’ve gotta savor the moments that have fun written all over them!
