"You're just a pok-ah playah, darling..."

This has been the week of finales!  Were you happy with the new American Idol choice? (Let me know in the comment section.)  On a different reality television note, I've been faithfully watching Celebrity Apprentice, on which famous, almost-famous, or used-to-be famous people battle it out "for charity."  Whether you were pulling for comedianne Joan Rivers or poker player Annie Duketo win, one thing's for sure.  They definitely raised a great deal of money and awareness for their respective charities.

Annie Duke was playing for Refugees International, which Charity Navigator rates as  4-stars. Joan Rivers was playing for God's Love We Deliver, a 2-star charity.

If you saw the season finale, you know that Joan beat out Annie, who over the course of the show was unfavorably compared to Hitler.  Is it the money worth the public humiliation of being on a reality television show?

I bet the charities think so.  Along with the title of "Apprentice," Joan Rivers won $250,000 for her organization.
