Welcome, New Readers -- all 17,000 of You!
We’re a small “ma and pa” magazine. (Literally. We were begun by one family -- a six person family in Boston, thus the "six seeds" of the name – and have grown by basically asking our friends to partner with us in our fun little adventure! It helps that we have friends who are pretty amazing -- for example, a movie maker who brings America amazing movies like The Chronicles of Narnia, Ramona and Beezus, and Waiting for Superman, a New York Times bestselling author, an attorney, an Iraq war vet, a Jeopardy champion and U.S. government official working on the fight against HIV/AIDS around the world, the vice president of one of the largest humanitarian organization in the world, a talented documentary film maker, and more!
We aren't selling anything, but do want to have broader conversation with America (about parenting more deliberately and about the best in books, movies, and sports) by enlarging our readership. Instead of buying ads, we used our marketing money on encouraging others who are already doing good things in their lives and communities. That’s why we created what we call the SixSeeds GrowingGoodness campaign. People all over America have utilized this unique partnership to raise money for adoptions, churches, and to fight disease and hunger.
But we’ve never experienced anything like Adoption Month. When we offered to partner with families who have (or will) adopt, by donating $2 per comment under articles showcased on this site, we knew it would be fun. It helps others with charities and adoptions, as well as bringing new readers to our site.
However, within three days, the initiative brought us seventeen thousand visitors and almost six thousand new subscribers to our e-zine. Chances are, that’s why you are now reading this article!
Welcome.
SixSeeds is pleased to partner with so many families - in a small way - to help encourage these kind of grassroots, organically good -- and cool -- activities!
We hope you consider yourself a part of something big. Something others-centered. Something good. After all, your readership means a lot to us, because it helps us more fully embody our motto:
Bringing stories home – and service to life!
We hope you enjoy this magazine -- please feel free to send any questions or comment to comments@SixSeeds.org!
