We would like for our little guys to be a part of our adoption journey, through praying together and learning about Ethiopia together.
Please tell us about yourself — your location, job, etc!
Josh is the campus minister at Williams Baptist College, in Walnut Ridge Arkansas. Kelly is a stay-at-home mom to their two young boys, Evan and Benjamin. We love encouraging college students in their walk with Christ and challenging them to live out their faith in their daily lives.
When/why did you decide to adopt?
We are so thankful for God choosing us and adopting us as His children through Jesus Christ. God’s gracious love for us is overwhelming and we have a desire to show God’s love to the nations. The Lord really opened our hearts to adoption this past summer; we prayed about adopting a child from a foreign country, and immediately stepped into the process this Fall.
Do you have any biological children?
We have two biological children, Evan and Benjamin. Evan is a sweet, reserved four year who loves to learn and read. Benjamin is our two and a half year old social bundle of energy who adores his big brother and best friend Evan.
Whom are you adopting, and from where?
We are going through Bethany Christian Services to adopt a baby (child under 24 months) from Ethiopia.
When are you hoping to have your child home?
We have completed our formal application paperwork and are entering into the home study process. We hope to bring our little guy home in about one year.
What is your biggest apprehension about the process?
The cost of adopting from Ethiopia, approximately $30,000, is somewhat overwhelming. We are trusting the Lord, who has called us into this journey, will meet all of our needs, spiritually, emotionally, and financially.
What has been the most surprising aspect of the process?
We have been so encouraged and amazed to learn that many of our friends are currently walking through this same journey of adoption. We are excited to walk alongside numerous friends from college, and seminary, who are also following the Lord’s leading on this exciting and blessed journey of adoption!
Have you and your spouse always been on the same page about wanting to adopt? (If not, what changed?) How did you tell your other children (if applicable) and families?
The Lord really began to impress adoption on our hearts at the same time. We were both challenged separately by friends and biblical counsel, and came together with the same desire for adoption. When we told our boys, they were so excited! We asked them if they wanted a brother or sister and they said… BROTHER! We would like for our little guys to be a part of our adoption journey, through praying together and learning about Ethiopia together.
Is any organization or agency helping you to get through the process, financially, emotionally, or otherwise?
Our church family, Central Baptist Church, is a great source of spiritual encouragement to us through this process.

I had no idea you guys were doing this, congratulations. I've been in Africa now for 4 and a half years, and I am all for adoption. After seeing some awful situations for children over here...I am more convinced now than ever that as long as a child has a family who loves him and has his best interest at heart, everything will work out.
