Bio

John Wunderli is a products liability and antitrust litigator.  After working for many years in Washington, D.C. and New York, he recently moved back home to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he lives with his wife and four fanatical University of Utah sports fan children.

12 Things to Know About John:

1. You won¹t really understand me unless you¹ve watched this movie:

This is probably best phrased as "You won't really understand me unless you understand the process I went through to begin to answer this question."  When was the last time I saw a movie?  Does renting movies, not watching them, and returning them late count?  Are Pixar films an appropriate response for an adult?  Are sports movies too cliché?  Can I honestly answer this question without immediately forfeiting the gravitas that should accompany my opinions?  Is it possible that no movies were made between Monty Python's films and The Incredibles?

2. I'm most liable to get choked up when I hear about:

Anybody who works really hard for something and either attains their goal or falls painfully short.

3. If I had a completely free day to do anything I wanted, I would:

I used to have an answer to this hypothetical and fanciful question, but I've long since forgotten what it was.  Ask me again when I'm fifty.

4. My kids drive me crazy when they:

Consistently refuse to acknowledge that my 40+ years of experience and wisdom make me worth listening to.

5. I drive my kids crazy when I:

Claim to remember what it was like to be their age, purposefully sing loudly off key, and insist that my 40+ years of experience and wisdom make me worth listening to.

6. If you're going to give me a gift card, get me one from this store:

Any store that sells expensive golf equipment.

7. I'm most proud of my kids when they:

Stand up for each other.

8. If I had a million dollars to give to a charity, I'd give it to:

The University of Utah

9. My go-to comfort food(s):

If this is defined as what I eat when I'm left home alone, it's beef jerky, Gatorade, and plain bagels.  If it's what I like to eat, it's sushi, Indian food, and anything with mashed potatoes.

10. If I could snap my finger and make some problem in the world go away, it would be:

Hmmm...  Hunger? Disease? Cruelty towards one's fellow man? Selfishness? Pollution? Persistent tendency to act like we know more than we do?  Lack of respect for the Mountain West Athletic Conference?  Rate at which the earth turns around its axis?  I'm stumped on this one.

11. Home chore or professional task I hate to do:

Draft personal bios or resumes . . . Except for this one, of course.

12. I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that I watch or read:

If I'm actually embarrassed about something, am I really going to disclose it for anyone to see?  We'll have to get to know each other better.
